As an options trader one should be open to both possibilities of buying or selling options depending on the current market and the particular underlying stock's conditions.

At the same time different people feel differently about whether they like to buy or to write an option. A trader should be aware of his or her own tendencies. Strictly speaking in mathematical terms an options buyer has less than 50% probability of profit and an options seller has more than 50% chance of profit. Of course, the traders who do their work fundamentally are always at an advantage.
