Trading Stock options is more complicated than trading stock shares. Therefore, it is imperative for a stock option trader to have a solid plan before engaging a transaction. The point of a trading plan is to help the trader prepare ahead of time for any possible market condition including when a trader should enter or exit a position.

A proper plan should include strategies for worst case scenarios as well as for other possible conditions that may become present in the market. Without a plan you will be lost and that is not to make profit over a long period of time.
